Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekends

Floating Requirements: to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

Required Skills/Experience: Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Diabetes, congestive heart failure, infection, sepsis, COPD, general surgery (kidney stones, appendectomy, minor amputations), sickle cell crisis, GI bleed, diverticulitis, general medicine/observation Special Procedures/Unit Details: Most surgical cases are placed on our unit. Large orthopedic program (total joints), colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, bariatric surgery.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Unit Details: Number of Bed 44, Daily Census 30

Equipment Used on Unit: Patient lifts (ceiling and portable), CADD pump, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, capnography

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
