Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 36 months of Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit experience within the past 3 years.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
PALS (Required)
Vaccinations

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience Pediatrics and Med/surg experience is necessary

Must be willing to care for Rehab patients

Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Rehab experience is preferred

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Population & Skills: Peds Rehab: Vents, Trach, Peds experience, TBI, Spinal Cord injuries, NG tube, Trach/vent experience

Closed head trauma, encephalitis, VP shunts, Wounds, and infectious diseases like VRE, MRSA, and C-Diff

Neuromuscular Disease, Spinal Cord Injuries, Cast/Splints, and Assistive Devices

Unit/Facility Details: This is the only pediatric inpatient rehab unit in the state

Some patients are born with disabilities and require surgeries that may cause deconditioning, while others face new challenges after traumatic accidents

The entire interdisciplinary team is pediatric-focused and specifically trained to care for these patients
