Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

C-EFM (Required)
NRP (Required)
ACLS (Preferred)

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend Holiday req: Every other Holiday No required call. The clinician can pick up On Call shifts if they choose.

Special Requests: RTO: One request approved will have to make up on the backend of the contract. Other requests will have to be discussed on a case by case basis. No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

  • Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

  • Patient Diagnoses: C-sections NST Betamethasone Laboring Triage Inductions
  • Special Procedures: Baby Friendly Organization Laboring nurses expected to take Post Partum patients when needed
