Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Emergency Department experience.

BSN completion preferred

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

Required Skills/Experience:

• Within past 8 months, candidate must have worked in an ED setting that has at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day).

• Respiratory, Care of Ventilated Patient, CPAP/BiPAP, Work Settings, General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions, Triage, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience, Community Hospital Experience

Required Credentials:

• Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Unit/Facility Details: Drivers License/State ID: Government issued photo ID. A valid driver's license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.

• Every other holiday.

• No on-call required.
