Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Oncology

Additional Details:

Oncology Chemo Certified

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling:

Can do 13 weeks, or up to 1/24 end date. Manager preference is to end 1/10, 1/17 or 1/24 to assist with holiday coverage. Will prioritize these candidates.

12 Hour D/N Rotating or Nights

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Special Requests: No set/blocked scheduling. Self-schedule requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules before finalizing.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics

Required Skills/Experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs Must have MS oncology and at least 1 year hematology / oncology experience

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Acute Leukemia population. Primarily care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. Medical unit - high number of blood products, IV antibiotics and electrolytes. Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Floating Requirements: To Other Medsurg Oncology Units

Unit Details: Number of Beds 24, Daily Census 22

Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds

Special Requests: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Previous Employment Requirements:

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
