Dress Code: Artificial nails are not permitted. Hair coloring must be natural colors, acceptable hair coverings should be worn if hair coloring is outside of natural color. Visible face and neck tattoos are not acceptable. Tattoos reflecting racial, nudity, or derogatory images or words must be covered.
On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day: 40- 50 Avg.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Everyone from minor injuries to major traumas, STEMIs, & Strokes; located near an Oil Field so that see a lot of crush injuries, burns, loss of fingers, etc.
Must be able to mix drips, e.g. Amio, cardizem, Epi, Insulin, etc. Will accept trauma level 1 & 2 ED experience.
Common drips?: Must be able to titrate all critical drips. Must be able to mix drips, e.g. Amio, cardizem, Epi, Insulin, etc..
RNs are required to be able to read and interpret tele and EKGs.
Do not guarentee block scheduling, manager will ask for ideal schedule but travelers are asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent schedules. Manager will try to accommodate the requests of our agency nurses, however, we will not sacrifice our own staff just to accommodate a special requested schedule.
Weekend Requirements: Every other.
Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation.
Is there call or a standby requirement?: No
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue, Allowed to wear jackets with no hood.
Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 days with a preceptor, depending on needs
Additional Notes: A lot more capabilities than you'd anticipate for a small hospital, currently working on becoming a Level IV hospital.
