Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required from last 12 months.

Experience with MEDHOST is preferred from any number of months.

Experience with Centricity is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 charge/lead references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Tennessee license or compact license

Additional Details:

A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.

Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Weekend Hours: Rotating schedule

Call Requirements: None

Med Surg, postpartum, pediatrics in that order. Due to our low birthrate, we must accept medical surgical patients on the floor. I need a nurse that has recent experience in those areas.

Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: geriatric, peds, adult, post-partum

Must Have Skills/Experience: IV placement; NG tube placement; fundal checks;

Preferred Skillset/Experience: Med Surg

Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Bowel obstruction; hip fracture; Cholelithiasis; Appendicitis; Post Partum care

Dress Code:

Scrub Color: Any

Any unacceptable attire: No camo; no logo shirts/sweatshirts other than Starr Regional

Every other weekend

Float Requirements: To other Med Surg units
