Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Cardiac Cath Lab experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
BSN completion preferred
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

Pacemaker/Defibrillator lead extraction/removal, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Right heart catheterization, Arrhythmia Induction, Baseline Measurements, Cardiac Ablation, Cardiac Mapping, Insertion/Programming of AICDs (Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators), Pacemaker Insertion, Angioplasty, Gastrostomy Tube Placement, Liver Biopsy, Embolization, Renal Artery Stent Placement

Uterine Arterial Embolization, Chest Tube Placement, Thoracentesis, Angioplasty, Endovascular Interventions, Stent Graft Placement, Upper and Lower Extremity Angiography, Antiarrhythmics, Antihypertensives, Emergency Medications, IV vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Reversal agents, Thrombolytics

Assist with Central Line Insertion/management, Starting IVs, 12 Lead EKG, Activated Clotting Time (ACT), Cardioversion, Circulate Procedure, External Compression Devices (C-Clamp, Sandbags), Hypothermia protocols, Infection Prevention, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Isolation Precautions

Monitoring Procedural Sedation, Radiation and Laser Safety, Sheath Removal and Monitoring, Topical Hemostasis (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch), Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose),

Skills Preferred: Pre Post Procedure, Special Procedures, Rotablator atherectomy, Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Tilt Table Study, Ventilator Monitoring

Float is required to Cath Lab, EP, & IR units

On Call:5-10 shifts per month, full weekend every 4-6 week

Dress Code: Scrubs - Provided

Avg. Daily Census: 15-20

Patient Population: Adults

RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.

No RTO the first two weeks of an assignment

If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
