Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Neurologic Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 3 years.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
License
Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
Vaccinations
Flu vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Shift & Schedule: Block Schedules: No

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Some holidays required

Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.

RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required

Orientation: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday

Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change)

Orientation is typically about one week

Required Skill / Experience: ICU Experience

Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years

Must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient population.

Telemetry: Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Preferred Skill / Experience: Neurosurgery experience

Unit Detail: 2-bed neuroscience critical care unit with the opportunity to support both IMC and ICU level of care.

Patient Types: Care for adult patients with a variety of neurology, neurosurgical and stroke conditions that can include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, hydrocephalus, cerebral aneurysm, and other neurovascular diseases

Stroke--Ischemic and Hemorrhagic / Brain Tumors / Seizures / Post-op Neurosurgery care / Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries

Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: EVDs, Lumbar drains, CereLink monitor

Procedures / Diagnostics / Treatments Performed on Unit: Provide interventions that may include vasoactive drips, hemodynamic monitoring, feeding tubes, drains, frequent assessments, and more.

Others: Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite
