Requirements
Experience
10 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license

Required Skills/Experience: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Work Settings, Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Respiratory, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Tracheostomy care/management, Medications, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips, Plastics, Surgical drains, Total laryngectomy, Doppler flap checks, Care of Post of patients

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Required Credentials:

• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

• Travelers University must be accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation.

• Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to offer

Unit/Facility Details:

• IU Health University and Methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.

• Drivers License/State ID: Government issued photo ID

Special Requests:

• Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.

• Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need

Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
