Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Block Schedules: Yes

Weekend Req: every other weekend required

Float Req: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.

May screen strong MS RN candidates with 1.5 to < 2 years MS exp, who acquire that 1.5+ yrs in a steady flow (not a cumulative total across different jobs.

Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler

Skills Req: MS/Tele, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring

Skills Preferred: Previous Charge, IV therapy/Phlebotomy

Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred

Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses: Any medical surgical diagnoses

RTO during a contract will not be approved for greater than 8 days and this must be scheduled so that the traveler can still work his/her full 36 hours/week.

RTO in between the ending of one contract and the beginning of another will not be approved for greater than 7 days.

For DC locations – Must have DC license in hand, but certain units accept pending. Will accept later booking date if traveler has applied for DC licensure.

Address must match DL when determining local status

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
