Weekend req: Weekend Rotation: 4-6 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) AND 2 Friday's per 6-week schedule.
Holiday Requirements: 1 major holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) and 1-2 minor holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day)
Skills REQ: IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Start & maintain peripheral IV, Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring. Labor and Delivery Management: Amnioinfusion, Assist with vaginal delivery, Circulate for C-section, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Recover C-Section, Sterile vaginal exam. Work Settings: Antepartum, Community Level experience, Facility births/month <100, LDRP, Level I Nursery, Mother/Baby. Medication & Administration: Antihypertensives, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline. Neonatal Care in Delivery Room: Collect cord samples, ID/Security Banding. Newborn Care: Assist with Circumcision/Assess site post-op, Car Seat Education, Cord Care, Discharge teaching to parents, Infant Identification, Metabolic Screen, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Phototherapy, Teach Circumcision care to parents, Thermoregulation. Antepartum Care and Procedures: NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Sterile vaginal exam, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring). Postpartum Care and Procedures: Baby friendly protocols, Breastfeeding Support/lactation support, Episiotomy/Incisional Care, Foley Catheter insertion, Fundus/lochia/perineum care, Use of Electric/Manual breast pump, Wound Assessment and Care. Postpartum Care of the Patient with: Bladder Distension, Cesarean Section, Couplet Care, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Vaginal Delivery. Surgical Case/Procedures: D & C, Tubal Ligation. Pain Management: Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Opioids, Pain assessment & management, Use of PCA (IV). Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions/PPE, Vaccine Administration. Fetal Monitoring: Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, Spiral Electrode Placement, Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration. Additional Skills: Post operative gynecology (hysterectomy) care.
Skills Preferred: Labor and Delivery Management n; Assist with high risk delivery, Scrub for C-Section. Work Settings: Low risk. Medication & Administration: Anticoagulants, Anticonvulsants. Neonatal Care in Delivery Room: APGAR scores, Neonatal Resuscitation, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation. Antepartum Care and Procedures: Assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation). Surgical Case/Procedures: Cervical Cerclage. Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Care: Infant / neonatal arrest, Use of Rapid Response team.
Is on-call req: Yes. 2 mandatory on call shifts each 6-week schedule period.
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs: RN is expected to care for any patient assignment within the LDRP unit (triage, c-section case, including circulating, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum). Full couplet care is required.
