Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience.
BSN completion required
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

Required Skills/Experience: IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Impella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferred

• Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff

• Cardiac experience is preferred

• CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred

• 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience is most preferred

• If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience excluding travel and have significant RN experience outside of ICU, please have CRT send to management team for approval

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Diagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population

Types of Patients on Unit: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma

Unit/Facility Details:

• Free Parking

• Beds: 39 – MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU – mixed unit

• Patient Ratio - Acuity dependent

• Please keep in mind when listing your start date availability, if you can start the day Monument Health is requesting, you are more likely to be selected for an interview or offer.

• Holiday Expectations: No RTO during holidays

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: As scheduled; specific rotation is not guaranteed

• No on call

• Up to 7 days – must extend to accommodate a full 13-week contract. No RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks in August every year)

Floating requirements

• Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor – including Medsurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio. Confirm traveler comfortability during interview

• ICU RN qualified to float to ED
