Level I or II Trauma Experience - Required
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient Types:
Surgical (Urology/Neuro/Ortho/Robotic/General/Podiatry/ENT)
Pre and Post Recovery (Phase I and Phase II) with some ICU level care needed.
Patient Ratio:
OR - 1/1
Pre-Op - 1/2
PACU Phase I - 1/1-2, based on acuity
PACU Phase II - 1/2-3
Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Skills Required:
Ortho-Trauma (ORIF, Ex fix, Amputations), Neuro (Craniotomy, Spinal), General, Robotics (Davinci XI)
Surgical experience in a tertiary care center
Pre-Op/PACU (to include ICU skillset in PACU)
Floating: As needed (PreOp/PACU/Floor) – if floated out of peri-op services, will be as helping hands
Orientation: All specialties: 1 week
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation – If position is posted as weekend only and on call, every 3rd weekend
Call: Ideally, one overnight per week 7p-7a and every 3rd weekend Fri 1500 – Mon 0700 - This is subject to change as needs change within the department
Response Time: 15 minutes
Holiday Expectations: 2/4 major holidays
Approval of Time Off: Reach out to Manager for approval. May volunteer low census without pay.
