Travel Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit

No Block Scheduling Allowed.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month

Cook is a mandatory float facility; all resources are required to float at the facilities discretion.

ICU RNs will float between numerous ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU. If needed to support staffing, ICU RNs may be asked to float to MS units. *first week (orientation + precepting shift) will be on day shift

2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU required.

Parking Cost: $2/day at Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (JTDC). A shuttle runs every 15 minutes between Stroger and JTDC.

Cook has the ability to request that any clinician float outside of their “home” facility as long as the floating does not exceed 50 miles. Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift. There are no home units. Your clinician could be floated to a variety of units, including outside of their primary area of competency. If they are floated outside of their primary competency, the team-based model will be used.

Block Scheduling: Cook does not approve block schedules or special requests. All time off must comply with the RTO policy.

No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.
