Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
4 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a District of Columbia license

Plastic Surgery and Limb Salvage

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with wound care/wound vac and surgical drains required

Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Nasal Cannula, Tracheostomy care/management, Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, MS/Tele, Surgical drains.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience

Accessing/Managing Ports, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs, Telemetry.

Required Credentials: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Unit/Facility Details: May come in contact with COVID patients

Shift & Scheduling: On Call/Weekend Requirement: no on-call requirement, weekend rotation included (every other required)

Rotating shifts can vary between switching between days and nights within the same week and/or working a few weeks of days and then a few weeks of nights.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
