Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 22 months of Emergency Department experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license

Additional Details:

BJC policy: Every other weekend required.

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics Weekend Coverage Every Other

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

  • Patient Diagnoses: High geriatric population: 40% of our pt's are over 60 High admission rate: 40% of our pt's are admitted Primary Stroke Center for TPA- nurse mix the TPA Known as a top heart hospital: level 1 for STEMI No trauma certification but care for Level 3's ESI Acuity level medium % for level 1 & 2's is 23% of total population ESI 4's 6% & rarely see a ESI 5 COVID
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: moderate sedation, chest tubes, intubations, Central lines, Defib/pacing

Preferred Skills/Experience: Community Hospital Exp Preferred Triage and Vents Preferred

Required Skills/Experience: Conscious Sedation Required

Types of Patients on Unit:

  • Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics

Special Requests: RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review. No RTO the first week of an assignment

Required Credentials: Background Policy to be noted prior to submission Cert: NIH only accepted through AHA, Apex, or NIHSS websites Cert: AHA PALS RQI is acceptable

Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months.
