Experience

Must have at least 24 months of Respiratory Unit experience.
Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent staff must be separated from Providence for a minimum of 3 months to return as a traveler.

Required Skills/Experience: Critical Care, 2 years Level 3 or 4 NICU or PICU experience required. Work Settings: Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care; Medication Delivery Systems: Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI); Medication Administration: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex; Neonatal/Pediatrics - Equipment/procedures: Umbilical blood gases; Ventilator Management: BiPAP, CPAP, High frequency oscillator, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation; Airway Management Devices/Suctioning: Extubation, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oral/nasal Suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy care/management; Nebulizer: Hand held, T-piece, Trach collar; Oxygen therapy: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Trach collar; Professional Knowledge and Skills: Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)

Preferred Skills/Experience: Medication Administration: Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Theophylline; Neonatal/Pediatrics - Equipment/procedures: Assist in high risk delivery, High frequency jet ventilator; Ventilator Management: High frequency jet ventilator; Care of Patient With: Bronchoscopy, Preferred experience with Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I

Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past., References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

Types of Patients on Unit: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Unit/Facility Details: 28 bed adult ICU, 9 bed PICU, 66 bed level 3 NICU, floor therapy. We are a level 2 trauma for adults and pediatrics. We also perform open heart surgeries on adults. We treat patients with all RT therapies to include NIV, high flow, nebulizers, CPT, nitric oxide, Flolan nebulizer to name a few. We have Draeger vents for adults, Servo-I for PICU and NICU. We also use 3100A and 3100B ventilators along with Jet ventilators in NICU. Parking Cost: Parking is free
