Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 12 months of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

BJC policy: Every other weekend required.

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

No medical marijuana cards accepted.

This position is in the Cardiac Procedure Center (Cardiac Cath Lab) Prep Recovery Area.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Shift: Shift hours include regular shift, late shift as needed (this shift leaves just before closers, most of the time the shift goes past 1830), close shift as needed (0800-2030, when the last patient leaves as this department closes). The closing shift end times vary.
  • Monday through Friday. No weekends, no call, no holidays

Special Requests:

  • Open to accommodating block schedule: No
  • RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.
  • No RTO the first week of an assignment

Required Credentials:

  • Will need to pass Relias EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required
  • Background Policy to be noted prior to submission

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Prior experience in a prep recovery area is a must. Must have experience pulling sheaths, caring for TR Bands. This department preps and recovers patients who are having/have had a cardiac catheterization, cardiac stents, valve replacements, pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac ablations and vascular procedures.
  • Required: interventional scrub experience
  • Minimum of one year of EP experience required

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

    • Patient Diagnoses: Top Diagnoses:, AMI, Chest pain, Heart failure, NSTEMI, Aortic Stenosis, V-Tach, Endocarditis, Afib, Peripheral vascular disease, Sick sinus syndrome
  • Special Procedures/Unit Details: RN Circulator needed to work in the diagnostic and interventional PCI environment. Rn circulator will provide conscious sedation under the direction of the attending, handoff sterile supplies, asses vitals, and document in EPIC. Will likely cross train to run hemodynamics in the monitor tech role.

Wear scrubs. • If you are working a straight night shift: If you are working straight night shift, there is no charge for parking, and you may park in the employee parking (you will receive parking information during orientation). • If you will be working a day/night rotation: you will have to obtain a parking pass for which there is a $70.00 fee per month. The garage that you will be parking in will be Clayton/Taylor Ave location. Bring your license plate number with you on your first day.

Previous Employment Requirements:

  • Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler.
  • All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months.
