Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Neurologic Intensive Care Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a District of Columbia license

Additional Details:

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling: Day/Night shifts. The majority of the shifts are day shifts. Up to two weeks of the six week schedule could be nights shifts.

Floating Requirements: 36 or 48hrs. No on call. Every other weekend. Holidays as needed.

Special Request: RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.

Required Skills/Experience: Conscious Sedation , ICP and Vents

Preferred Skills/Experience: Pulmonary Artery Lines , IV Starts and Phlebotomy. Teaching Hospital Experience and Community Hospital Experience.

Equipment Used on Unit: EVD, Raumedic Bolt, Artic Sun, CVVH, Lytic catheter Flo-tracker and PA- catheter ( occasionally)

Acceptable IDs: A valid driver's license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job.

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

References: Must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
