Required Skills/Experience: Bed Side Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilization of AIDET, and hourly rounding are required for this unit and all RN units. Skills: IV therapy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Respiratory/Thoracic, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Genitourinary/Renal, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience. Skills: PICC line management, CVVHD/CRRT, CVA/Acute Stroke management, External ventricular drain (EVD), Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, Lumbar drains, Post Craniotomy, Post Neurosurgery management, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Phlebotomy, Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
Required Credentials: BSSR Attestation. ID: Drivers License/State ID, Government-Issued Photo ID.
Shift & Scheduling: 36 or 48HPW. Every other weekend.
Floating Requirements: Float to Med/Surg or SICU as needed. Staff are expected to float out of the unit first as a patient observer.
