Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

12 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Psychiatric Unit experience is required.

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Seasonal Flu Vaccine is required if working during flu season (September 15-April 30th).

Must be fully vaccinated (exemptions are reviewed on a very limited basis).

No Block Scheduling for any Travelers at Salem.

Every other weekend

We treat patients with diverse types of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients: detox here on the unit while treating mental health issues), and some medically acute patients (IVs, CPAPs, Wound Care, diabetic care).

Rotating Shifts Required: Yes for Day Rotate, (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a). No more than 2-3 shifts per time block and typically not for more than 1 or 2 time blocks (4 week blocks). Nights position does not rotate.

Skill Sets Required: Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell); proficient in electronic health records documentation, proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and side effects; Able to assume the role of charge nurse; Able to complete admissions and discharges; Competent in the use of IV pumps; Competent in care of a diabetic patient.

Patient Population: Adult 18 to 65 years of age.
