Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

3 months of travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

Must have at least 24 months of Neurology Unit experience.

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years Med Surg/Tele Acute Care- Must have experience with neurology patients.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Intermediate nursing care for stroke and neurology patients who require more intensive observation of their neurological, cardiovascular, or respiratory status.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adult patients. Spinal surgery, intracranial hemorrhage, Subarachnoid hemorrhage, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, any disease that would affect the brain or spinal column, and seizure

Unit/Facility Details:

• Brain Rescue Unit and Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit (Neurology; Neurosurgical; Stroke)

• The Brain Rescue Unit (BRU): 12 bed Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center

• Zayed 12W: 14-bed acute care neurological and neurosurgical inpatient nursing unit.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every third weekend, Holidays as needed

• Availability Call: 2 (12 hour) shifts per 6 week schedule
