Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience.
3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU. IV therapy, Arterial line management, Central line care/management, Respiratory/Thoracic, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Medications, Continuous IV sedation, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Professional Topics and Skills, Isolation Precautions/PPE, and Additional Skills, Computerized documentation, Titration of IV vasopressors.

Special Requests: You must start on the start date specified for this job. RTO: 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive. No holiday RTO. No RTO the day prior or after a holiday. No RTO on weekends.

Holiday RTO: If your traveler calls out on a holiday, the facility can cancel their contract.

Block Scheduling: Cook does not approve block schedules or special requests. All time off must comply with the RTO policy.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/ 2 weekends per month

Floating Requirements: Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Cook is a MANDATORY FLOAT FACILITY, all resources are required to float at the facilities discretion. ICU RNs will float between numerous ICU units including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU. If needed to support staffing, ICU RNs may be asked to float to MS units. The first week (orientation and precepting shift) will be on the day shift.

Floating: Cook has the ability to request that any clinician float outside of their “home” facility as long as the floating does not exceed 50 miles. Travelers may receive notification to float 2 hours before their shift. If your clinician refuses to float, they will be subject to cancelation. There are no home units. Your clinician could be floated to a variety of units, including outside of their primary area of competency. If they are floated outside of their primary competency, the team-based model will be used.
