Assignment is for Med Surg only.
Must have surgical experience.
32 bed surgical unit must have experience caring for patients after vascular, thoracic, colorectal and general surgery.
The most common diagnosis’s on their unit: ARDS, esophagectomies, whipples, sepsis.
RN Patient ratios on days is 4:1 and on nights is 5:1.
Would they expect the traveler to float: Yes
Required Experience:
Chest tubes
Tubes
Drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
Lines/Tubes/drains for post-surgical patients
Trachs/Laryngectomies
Telemetry
Complex wounds
Central Lines – care and maintenance and blood draws
