Experience

24 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.

Additional Details:

Day/Night, 12 hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm and 7:00pm-7:30am. Monday through Friday and required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule.

Level 4 NICU experience required, or level III that included some surgical and trach vent management

Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vents, various modes of invasive/noninvasive ventilation

Traveler must have completed two years in an acute care setting in addition to at least one year in a level IV NICU or level III NICU meeting above requirements.

Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.

Provide care for critically ill newborns, infants and their families across the continuum of care, from admission to discharge.

Provide care for infants requiring the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including a wide variety of medical and surgical complexities

Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred

Note: Prefer at least one level IV NICU assignment completed

Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: 4-6, based on unit needs

Patient Age Groups: Neonates

RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process. Generally, no more than 2 weeks off in a contract. If the request is more than 1 week and is consecutive (no hours in the week), Vaya will add 1 week at the end of the contract. Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required. Some units are stricter than others regarding holidays (ED allows for 1 holiday off).

Adult Exam:

100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole

No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure]

Passing score of 80% or higher
