Additional Details:
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)/Day 3x12-Hour (07:30 - 19:00)
If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.
Oncology experience preferred but not required
Medical Oncology with progressive care beds/pediatric patients.
High acuity of PCU and small amount of med surg
No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule.
Facility determines the complete schedule, with the possibility of working every weekend. Must be flexible.
Maximum 7 straight days off.
14-week contract required if taking 7 days off.
Patient Diagnoses: Solid Tumor, Orthopedic Oncology, Thoracic Oncology
Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics
Special Procedures/Unit Details: -Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to PCU level of care.
-Pediatric patients are cared for on this unit but are extremely rare and would likely be cared for by perm staff. Pediatric experience is NOT required to be agency RN here.
Required: High acuity PCU patient experience - Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
Special Equipment: • B450 monitors GE telemetry system. • Bladder Scanner. • Alaris pumps. • Stryker beds. • Continuous Bladder Irrigation • PCA Pumps
Ratio: 1/4-5 Med Surg Telemetry, 1/3 PCU
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
Float Required: Yes; to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units
Orientation and Training: • First week: Monday to Friday dayshift orientation. • Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor.
Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
RTO required with submission, must be built into contract
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
