Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 36 months of Emergency Department experience.
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • At least 3-years of ED experience in large volume ED with high acuity patients
  • Strong emergency nursing skills to include critical care and pediatric patients
  • Experience with chest tubes, arterial lines, blood administration, BiPap/Ventilators
  • Splinting
  • Experience with managing medication drips
  • Triage experience-must pass hospital’s Triage Test before allowed to triage
  • Able to set up chest tubes, art lines. Assist with Trauma and Code cases. ER skills, Critical patients.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Pediatric emergency medicine experience

Types of Patients on Unit:

  • Neonate to geriatric, Level III trauma center, pediatrics (medical and trauma). stroke (administer TPA), cardiac (Cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder
  • Transfer out (stabilize and ship): neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, high acuity peds patients

Unit Details:

  • Beds: 34 with 12 hallway beds
  • Fast track (13 beds, “green zone”)
  • Free parking

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend rotation: Yes, every other weekend. (may work back-to-back weekends, rare) Looking for flexibility.
  • Holiday Expectations: They can be scheduled on holidays, 1-2 holidays per contract.
