Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience within the past 3 years.

Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months

Experience with Epic is required from last 18 months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license

Certifications

BLS (Required)

ACLS (Preferred)

Vaccinations

Flu vaccination required. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Block scheduling can not be guaranteed.

36-hour guarantees only (no 48s) – can pick up additional shifts

Travel pairs cannot request the same schedule

Cannot have an employment gap in the past 4+ months.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Experience Requirement: Floating experience does not count toward experience requirement. Correctional facility experience does not count toward experience requirement.

Start Date: Start date is not flexible

Orientation: One NEO, one clinical ed/EPIC, one day floor

Shift & Schedule: 1845-0717

No blocked scheduling requests

Weekend Requirement: Every other

Low Census On Call

Floating Requirements: MedSurg, stable low acuity in ICU, RDU and Foothills clinic RDU

Required Skill / Experience: Trauma level I/II of recent hospital experience

RNs required to titrate drips - Heparin & lasix gtt-non titrated

Tele on this unit, Travelers don't need to read tele, there is a dedicated monitor tech

Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Mostly medical - Pneumonia, COPD, Radiation pts, AKI, occasional lap chole, appy, etc

Unit Details: Number of Beds: 90 - double occupancy beds.
