Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience with 6 months within the past 12 months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license

BLS (Required)

ACLS (Required)

NRP (Required)

Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Preferred)

Vaccinations

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

Labor and Delivery RN with at least 3-5 years of experience.
Experience in L&D, LDRP and PP care. Must be able to manage a 3 couplet assignment.
Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM ( External Fetal Heart Monitoring).
Start & Maintain Peripheral IV
Administer Antihypertensives and Insulin drips
Assist with vaginal delivery
Recover C-Section
APGAR scores, Baby Nurse ( “Baby Catcher”), Collect cord samples, ID/Security Banding, Radiant Warmers/Thermoregulation

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience preferably in LDRP model who is trained in labor and delivery, post-partum, c-section circulation and special care nursery.

Required Credentials:

Newborn Assessment.
Epidural Anesthesia / Pain assessment & management.

Shift & Scheduling: Self Scheduling. Call Requirements: Yes.
