Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

Must have at least 22 months of Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience.

Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Required Skills/Experience: Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Respiratory failure, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP), Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Epicardial Pacing Wire Care and Management, Post Cardiac Surgery (Not directly from the OR), Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Valve Replacement/Repair, CVA/Acute Stroke management, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Phlebotomy, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 2 years of cardiac ICU experience

Teaching Hospital Experience

Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Fresh tracheostomy, Pulmonary edema, Care of the patient on ECMO, ECMO, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Nurse driven ECMO protocols, Post Cardiac Surgery (directly from the OR), Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Sheath Removal, Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR), Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Chronic/Acute Renal failure, CVVHD/CRRT, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Lumbar drains, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling: Day (07:00 - 19:30); Night (19:00 - 07:30)

Weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays.

Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4 week schedule period. Saturday/Sunday for dayshift, Friday/Saturday for nightshift
