Required Skills/Experience Nurses working in the ED should be able to interpret and act on rhythms that a patient has. I would expect that a person could recognize life threatening rhythms
Preferred Skills/Experience: SANE RN experience preferred.
Working at a hospital with residents (teaching hospital) preferred.
Types of Patients on Unit: Common diagnoses/Types of patients: In the ED we have all types of patients. See newborns to the elderly with a very wide variety of complaints. Minor patients to critically ill patients.
Critically ill patients and those in cardiac arrest. Strokes and heart attacks on a regular basis. Level 1/2 trauma patients are cared for in the trauma bay by a specialized team of nurses (trauma team).
Travelers may care for traumas once they have been stabilized in the bay and transferred to a pod but will not likely be sent to the trauma bay as the primary nurse caring for these patients.
Equipment Used on Unit: Monitors are Phillips monitors and we would orient a traveler to their use.
