Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required from any number of months.

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license

On-Call: No

Traveler will be responsible for self-studying Telemetry strips.

A basic dysrhythmia test out will be given first week of assignment. This must be passed in order to work on our Telemetry / Med Surg unit.

Patient Population / Patient Types: Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry

Patient Ratio: Telemetry - 1/4, Med Surg - 1/5

Floating is a requirement in ACU; is always required for any non-critical care inpatient units including to the Emergency Department if there are boarded patients.

If the traveler has critical care experience, we have occasionally floated them to CCU
