Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no gap in employment greater than 90 days in the past year
  • IV therapy/Phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, drawing venous blood, starting and maintaining IVs, use of infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring, labor and delivery management, amnioinfusion, assist with vaginal delivery, circulate for C-section, forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage and shock management, recover C-section, sterile vaginal exam, antepartum care, community level experience, facility births/month <100, LDRP, Level I nursery, mother/baby care, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), prostaglandins, terbutaline, collect cord samples, ID/security banding, newborn care in delivery room, assist with circumcision and assess site post-op, car seat education, cord care, discharge teaching to parents, infant identification, metabolic screen, newborn assessment, newborn hypoglycemia, phototherapy, teach circumcision care to parents, thermoregulation, NST (non-stress tests), reflex checks, edema assessment, clonus, sterile vaginal exam, triage of obstetrical patients, use of EFM (external fetal heart monitoring), baby friendly protocols, breastfeeding and lactation support, episiotomy and incisional care, Foley catheter insertion and management, fundus, lochia, and perineum care, use of electric and manual breast pumps, wound assessment and care, postpartum care of patients with bladder distension, cesarean section, couplet care, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy induced hypertension, vaginal delivery, D&C, tubal ligation, epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, opioids, pain assessment and management, use of PCA (IV), isolation precautions/PPE, vaccine administration, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, spiral electrode placement, use of external fetal monitoring, use of internal fetal monitoring, use of IUPC placement and calibration, post-operative gynecology (hysterectomy) care.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Community Hospital Experience
  • Assist with high risk delivery, scrub for C-section, low risk, anticoagulants, antiseizure medications, APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, radiant warmers and thermoregulation, assist with sterile speculum exam including effacement, dilation, station, and presentation, cervical cerclage, infant/neonatal arrest management, use of rapid response and code teams.

Special Requests:

  • Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Holiday Requirements: 1 major holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) and 1-2 minor holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day)
  • No travel partners accepted

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend Rotation: 4-6 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) AND 2 Friday's per 6-week schedule.
  • Call Required: Yes. Note: 2 mandatory on call shifts each 6-week schedule
