Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from last 12 months.
Must have at least 36 months of Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience.
BSN completion required
3 months of experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

  • Pediatric CVICU, Central Venous Pressure Monitoring (CVP), Congenital Heart Disease/Repair, Hemodynamic monitoring, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post Cardiac catheterization, Post cardiac surgery, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Administration of blood & blood products, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, PICC line management, TPN/Lipids, Arterial line management, Antiarrhythmics, Continuous Sedation, IV vasopressors, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Management of Chest Tubes, Assist/manage intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management/maintenance, Care of Ventilated Patient, Care/maintenance of acute airway, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Urinary catheter insertion/management, Insulin administration, IV Insulin Pumps, Management of gastric tubes, NG tube insertion/ management, Hyperthermia management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Infection control/PPE, Vaccine Administration, Wound assessment/care.
  • Min 3-5 Year PED CVICU Exp (will consider 5 year PEDS ICU exp instead).

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • PICU*, NICU*, Heart Transplant*, ECMO*, Post pacemaker insertion*, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs*, Anti-Seizure Medications*, Tracheostomy care*, Acute/chronic renal failure*.

Unit/Facility Details: An interview may not be given prior to an offer being made.

Special Requests:

  • You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
  • Pre-Approved Time Off: 2 Requests
  • All tentative RTO must be included at time of submittal- additional requests mid-contract will not be accepted.
  • RTO must be discussed and approved by the hiring manager at time of offer.
  • If an auto-offer unit, rto must be included and limited to 1-week total RTO. Anything over 7 days will require manager approval at time of offer.
  • Travel Pairs: travel pairs are allowed, but generally will not be on the same unit. Married couples may not work on the same unit.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend Coverage: Every Other
  • Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4 week period.
  • Variable Days/Nights.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float Policy: At any time during assignment, resources may be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility (within 75+ radius) if the resource satisfies the requisite Job Specifications.
  • Ability to float to other UCSF Facilities.
