Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
22 months of Emergency Department experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Transfer Center RN

  • Non-patient facing role (unless being floated to cover inpatient nursing shift)
  • The transfer center takes calls from all over Alaska for patients that need to be brough to our facility, they talk to Physicians frequently and connect the sending MD to the attending MD. Detail oriented and understand emergent situations.
  • Coordinating transfers across the state to PAMC
  • Connecting physician to physician to facilitate transfers document retrieval
  • All phone communication to key stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills are a must.

Shift: 3X12 Variable (36Hrs) Shifts will either be 0600-1830 or 1200-Midnight

Skills REQ: ER Triage, or IMC/Stepdown, or ICU

Is on-call REQ: No

Weekend REQ: Yes -every other

If needed will be utilized in Float Pool within their skillset

RTO must be listed at time of submission.

Holidays: traveler must be willing to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

Return Staff Policy: Permanent staff must be separated from Providence for a minimum of 3 months to return as a traveler.

Travelers can only work for a maximum of 1 calendar year in their assignment. Travelers are then required to take a minimum of a 6-month break before returning for another traveler assignment at the same facility.

Facility only accepts Hep B vaccines and will not take titers or declination
