Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required from last 3 months.
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license

Additional Details:

Skills checklist must be completed within the last 6 months for Application. Upon accepting an offer, you will be assigned Relias exams that must be taken immediately (within 48hrs). If you fail the exam twice, this may result in an immediate cancellation by the facility.

No blocked scheduling

3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule

Ratio: 1:4 or 5 depending on acuity

The population will include but is not limited to:

  • Acute Stroke management (ischemic, hemorrhagic, SAH, etc.)
  • Post Neuro-surgical management (craniotomy, ventriculostomy, complex neuro-spine)
  • Seizure management (epilepsy, post-ictal and pseudo-seizures)
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Guillain-Barre

Skills that will be utilized are NIHSS, Lumbar puncture assistance, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, lumbar drains, IV start skills, peripheral lab draws, arterial blood draws, various intravenous drips i.e.. cardiac, insulin, heparin, and cardiac monitoring. Stroke (Ischemic/Hemorrhagic), Seizure, Brain Tumor, Complex Neuro-spine surgery, SAH/SDH, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillain-Barre, Encephalopathy, Laminectomies, Transverse Myelitis.

Neuro experience

EKG exam - must pass during orientation

ALL RTO must be given prior to assignment confirmation
