Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience.
Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
Vaccinations

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekends

Required Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience, chest tubes, PCA infusions, bedside monitoring, non-titratable drips, IV infusions

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience Community Hospital Experience, LTAC Experience

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: CHG, Diabetes, COPD/Asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension/hypotension, ETOH withdrawal, general surgery

Unit Details: Number of Bed 15, Daily Census 15

Equipment Used on Unit: Bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients, ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, lift equipment

Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
