Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Respiratory, Work Settings, MS/Tele, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Telemetry - remote monitoring, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Medications, PCA, Neurological/Psychiatric, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Orthopedics, Ortho trauma, Plastics, Surgical drains, Professional Knowledge and Skills, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Additional Skills, experience of 3 or 4 on the scale ortho neuro

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Tracheostomy care/management

Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID

Shift & Scheduling:

• Must Be Flexible With Weekend Requirements, Weekend Requirement Will Be Based On Unit Needs. Travelers Must Be Able To Work 50% Of The Weekends In Their Contract.
• Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
