Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license

Additional Details:

Must have recent experience at a Level One Trauma Facility.

Please note that should you receive an offer for this position, you will have 48 hours to accept/decline.

Must be willing to fulfill a full 13 week contract.

Candidates should expect to work 2-3 of the 4 Summer Holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, and Labor Day).

Any RTO should be provided at time of submission to be considered.

Will be required to work 5-6 weekend shifts per 6 week period.

This is a stroke PCU need with the possibility of floating to other PCU's if needed.

Progressive Care experience, M/S Acute Care, Tele experience required. ICU experience is a plus.

Neuro/stroke experience preferred.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

  • Patient Diagnoses:

  • Stroke: Hemorrhagic and Ischemic

  • Traumatic Head Injury

  • Brain Tumor

  • Spine Surgery

  • Seizures

  • Other Neurological disorders: GB, MG

  • HARD STOP REQUIREMENT- MUST be a 3 or 4 in the following: CVA, intracranial bleeds, Laminectomy, Neuromuscular disease, Pre/post neurosurgery, post TPA care, Seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, stroke scale, traumatic brain injury

Compliance requirements: Must pass EKG Onboarding exam, NIHSS, Math exam, Med/Pharmacology exam, Progressive Care Competency exam, Progressive Care skills, CORE exams

RTO - must be presented at time of submission. Any time off sent after the offer will not be approved.

Return Staff Policy: Gone for 90 days to return as traveler

University of Kentucky WILL NOT accept any licensure hits.

BLS and ACLS RQI accepted
