Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 18 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Illinois license

IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs

Oncology: Oncology, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy

Respiratory: Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, CPAP/BiPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy care/management

Gastrointestinal: Colostomy care and management, Feeding tube care and management

Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Pre/Post neurosurgery, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury

Medications: Heparin, Insulin, PCA

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Work Settings: Med/Surg, Orthopedics

Orthopedics: Total Joint Replacements

Plastics: Surgical drains

Preferred Skills / Experience: Previous Charge Experience, Teaching Hospital Experience

Phlebotomy

Respiratory: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring

Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols

Work Settings: MS/Tele, Telemetry

Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements

Cardiovascular: Post Angiogram, Post cardiac surgery, Post MI

Genitourinary/Renal: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure

Unit / Facility Details: Parking Cost: Parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation

Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling: 4x12 or 3x12

Will work every other weekend
