Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 10 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

RTO must be listed at time of submission.

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past.

If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations. (Nursing positions only).

Previous Employment Requirements: Perm candidates of any Other providence facility ( Non Swedish ) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All Swedish facilities honor active compact license.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient diagnoses: Level II NICU- Unstable newborns- 32 weeks and greater. Attends All Deliveries, Attends High Risk Deliveries Special procedures:

  • Breathing Treatments,
  • Chest Tube Set-up/Care, CPAP/BiPap
  • Procedure Sedation, RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation Drugs
  • Cooling / Warming Blanket
  • Drains, Feeding Tubes
  • PICC/Central Lines, Syringe Pumps
  • GYN Surgeries, Couplet Care, Transition Nursery

Floating Requirements: Float: yes, to post partum & L&D

Types of Patients on Unit:

  • Patient Age Groups: Infants

Transportation: Clinician must have reliable transportation; travel pairs require separate vehicles.

Shift & Scheduling: Scheduling: Facility scheduling needs must be met

Special Requests: Special requests (e.g., block scheduling, late starts) will not be accommodated.

Housing: IF applicable - Clinician should secure housing before accepting and be aware of local cost of living

Required Credentials:

  • Cert: NRP - AAP, AHA or Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS).
  • Cert: BLS - Must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or “Heart&Stroke” certification from Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation only
