Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

• IV therapy, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Respiratory/Thoracic, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Genitourinary/Renal, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, CVVHD/CRRT, Medications, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, Neurological, CVA/Acute Stroke management, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Professional Topics and Skills, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Endocrine/Metabolic, IV insulin protocols

Unit/Facility Details:

• Drivers License/State ID - A valid driver's license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job.

• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Six weekend shifts in six weeks.

• Holidays required.
