Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Required)
Vaccinations

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Teaching Hospital Experience.
  • Community Hospital Experience.
  • LTAC Experience.
  • Patient ratio experience of 4-6.
  • PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience.
  • Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Nasal Cannula, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Feeding tube care and management, Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, PCA, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Isolation Precautions, IV insulin protocols, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Previous charge experience strongly.
  • Teaching Hospital Experience.
  • Community Hospital Experience:
  • LTAC Experience.
  • External CPAP/BIPAP*, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)*.

Required Credentials:

  • Candidate must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

Special Requests:

  • Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 Request.
  • RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review. Please ensure all RTO is for the full 13 weeks for each submittal o RTO the first two weeks of an assignment.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Every other weekend coverage required.
  • Unit will direct weekend coverage based upon operational needs.
  • Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: Unit will direct based upon operational needs.
  • Scheduling Type: Other.

Floating Requirements:

  • Float required to Tele and/or MS as needed (These units have a 1:5/1:6 ratio).
