Required Skills/Experience:
Titration of vesicant medications is required.
Familiarity with pressors is required.
Familiarity with sedation is required.
Familiarity with paralytics is required.
Experience with vents is required.
Experience with trachs is required.
Telemetry interpretation is required.
Understanding of hemodynamics is required.
PA catheter setup and interpretation are required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Transvenous pacing is preferred.
Cardioversion is preferred.
TEE is preferred.
Familiarity with chest tube insertions and maintenance is preferred.
IABP, Impella and CRRT skills are preferred.
Unit Details:
Patient ratios are 2/1 or 1/1, occasionally 3/1 depending on acuity.
Equipment includes ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella and hypothermia equipment.
Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis and thoracentesis.
Shift & Scheduling:
Alternating weekends are required.
