Required Credentials: Driver's license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/TDAP declinations. Ascension Pharmacology Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Medical Surgical Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed.
Unit Details: Cares for medically complex step-down/progressive care/med-tele patients requiring telemetry, frequent monitoring, and specialized interventions. Performs respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and hemodynamic assessments; monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and lab results. Manages telemetry monitoring, IV drips, central lines, PICC lines, oxygen therapy, high-flow oxygen, and CPAP/BiPAP. Patient population includes cardiac, neuro/stroke, dialysis (outside contracted company), post-operative, respiratory, and general medical-surgical overflow patients.
Floating Requirements: May float to other med/surg units.
