References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Credentials:

  • If the clinician has facial hair, they must pass the primary or secondary fit test. Portacount testing cannot be completed on clinicians with facial hair, PAPR cannot be completed onsite solely due to facial hair, and the contract will be canceled if facial hair cannot be removed.

Special Requests:

  • Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.
  • Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
  • Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.
  • Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity.
  • RTO must be submitted upfront, limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission.
  • Block scheduling available.

Unit Details:

  • Labor patient ratios: 1:1-2. Postpartum patient ratios: 1:2-3.
  • Cares for patients greater than 35 weeks in labor and mom/baby couplets.
  • RNs titrate drips including antepartum/labor magnesium, oxytocin, LR, and Zofran; postpartum prenatal vitamin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Percocet, and Toradol.
  • Uses OB Trace Vue.
  • Neonatal respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow.
  • Rural hospital with limited services; NICU is more than 1 hour away.
  • Surgery is in charge of the C-section; the RN circulates for the baby.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Day/night rotate, 7-7.
  • Every third weekend.
  • Holidays as needed.

Floating Requirements:

  • First to float to MSP/ED for helping hands, mostly sitting 1:1 with patients.
