Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must be able to read telemetry.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• At least 1 completed traveler contract preferred; first-time travelers accepted.
• Cardiology background preferred.

Required Credentials:

• Associate degree or certificate.

Unit Details:

• 4E Med/Surg Clinical Decision Unit.
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 nights; 1:4-5 days.
• Patient population includes DM, CHF, DTs, falls with minimal injury, stroke rule-out, chest pain, pneumonia, and generalized weakness.
• Common cases include Med/Surg, day surgery patients, ER admits, prostatectomy, lap appy, lap chole, and CBI.
• Skills and treatments on the unit include IV placement, CBI, wound care, heparin gtt, Lasix gtt, post-cath care without interventions, TR bands, and NG tube placement.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend.
• Holiday rotation; holiday grouping schedule to come.
• No call.
• Scheduled hours may vary during orientation week and during holidays when the unit is closed.

Floating Requirements:

• May float to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and other like units as needed.
• Floating to units and facilities is based on census and should not be outside the clinician's clinical skills unless approved by the employee, unit manager, shift advisor, and SimpliFi.
