Required Skills/Experience:
Recent critical care experience is required.
Strong inpatient clinical skills are required.

Competency with ventilators, drips, and high-acuity patients is preferred.
Unit Details:
Provides inpatient-level nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting transfer to an inpatient bed.
The role supports patient safety, throughput, and continuity of care during periods of high hospital census.
RNs are not expected to take regular Emergency Department patient assignments; the assignment remains within the Emergency Department boarder care model.
Patients may include ventilated patients, patients receiving vasoactive infusions, or patients with other critical care needs while boarding in the Emergency Department.
RNs may care for patients of varying acuity consistent with their skill set.
The role involves collaboration with Emergency Department physicians, hospitalists, ICU teams, and inpatient services.
Shift & Scheduling:
Night shifts are scheduled Sunday night through Thursday night.
Scheduling patterns may include weekdays and/or weeknights based on coverage needs.
Floating Requirements:
If departmental or organizational needs change, RNs may be required to temporarily provide care in another unit within their clinical competency and skill set.
