Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit

Required Skills/Experience:

• One full year ortho/neuro/trauma.
• Strong neuro assessment, log rolling patients, applying assistice devices (back brace, immobilizer), Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test **Stepdown exp only), PIV insertion.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Chest tube/indwelling drain management, drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck’s traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, wounds (packing, wound vacs). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates

Shift & Scheduling:

• 36 (will accept 48 upon request).
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
